What Should My Snowboard Look Like After Waxing

3.06. Time prophesied the coming of the Messiah

The keynote of the preaching of Christ was: "The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent and believe the gospel" (Mark 1: 15).

So the gospel message, as did the Savior Himself, was based on the prophecies. The "time" he declared fulfilled was the period made known to Daniel by the angel Gabriel:

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city to finish transgression, put an end to sin, and reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most Holy "(Daniel 9: 24).

In prophecy a day represents a year (Numbers 14: 34. Ezekiel 4: 6).

The seventy weeks, or four hundred ninety days, represent four hundred and ninety years. And there had been a starting point for this period:

"Know therefore and understand, that from the start of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks," ( Daniel 9: 25) sixty-nine weeks, ie four hundred eighty-three years.

The order to restore and build Jerusalem, completed by the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus (Ezra 6:14; 7: 1) entered into force in the autumn of 457 BC Since that time, four hundred eighty-three years reach the autumn of AD 27

According to prophecy, this period was to come to Messiah, the Anointed. In the year 27 AD, Jesus at His baptism received the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and soon after began his ministry. Then it was proclaimed the message: "The time is fulfilled."

the angel had declared: "In one week [seven years] shall confirm the covenant with many."

For seven years after the Savior began his ministry, the gospel had to be preached especially to the Jews by Christ himself for three years and a half, and then by the apostles.

"In the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering" (Daniel 9: 27). In the spring of AD 31, Christ the true sacrifice was offered on Calvary. Then the veil of the temple was torn in two, showing that the meaning and sanctity of the ritual of sacrifice were over. Now was the time when sacrifices were to cease and terrestrial offerings.

week-seven years ended in 34 AD. So, for the stoning of Stephen the Jews finally sealed His rejection of the gospel the disciples, scattered by persecution "went everywhere preaching the word" (Acts 8: 4) and shortly thereafter became the persecutor Saul, and became Paul the apostle to the Gentiles.

time of Christ's coming, His anointing by the Holy Spirit, death and the proclamation of the Gospel to the Gentiles, had been given in a definite shape.

was the privilege of the Jewish people understand these prophecies, and recognize their fulfillment in the mission of Jesus. Christ urged his disciples to recognize the importance of studying prophecy.

Referring to what was given to Daniel about his time, said: "The reader understand." (Matthew 24: 15). After his resurrection, said to the disciples in "all the prophets" "the things concerning himself" (Luke 24: 27).

El Salvador had spoken through the prophets. "The spirit of Christ which was in them" "testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow" (1 Peter 1: 11).

3.05. The sacrifices of the OT - a confession of faith in the promised Redeemer

Animal sacrifice was ordained by God to be to man a perpetual reminder and a penitential acknowledgment of sin and confession their faith in the promised Redeemer.

It was intended to express a fallen race the solemn truth that it was sin that caused death.

To Adam's offer the first sacrifice was a most painful ceremony. Had to raise his hand to take a life that only God could give. For the first time was to witness the death, and knew that if he had been obedient to God would not have known to man or beast.

As he slew the innocent victim trembled at the thought that his sin must shed the blood of the spotless Lamb of God.

This scene will gave a profound and vivid sense of the enormity of his transgression, which nothing but the death of God's dear Son could expiate. And he marveled at the infinite goodness that would give such a ransom to save the guilty. A star of hope illumined the dark and terrible future, and he saved them from complete despair.

3.04. The sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham as a type

"Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took in his hand the fire and the knife and they were both together. Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, My father. And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said: Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for the burnt offering? And Abraham said, God will provide himself a lamb for the burnt offering, my son. And they were together. And when they reached the place God had told him, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son. Then the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven, saying: Abraham, Abraham. And he answered: Here I am. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do anything to him because I know that you fear God, hast not withheld thy son, thine only. Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered a burnt offering instead of his son "(Genesis 22: 6-13 ).

By
symbols and promises, God "preached before the gospel to Abraham." (Galatians 3: 8.) And the patriarch's faith was fixed upon the Redeemer to come. Christ said to the Jews, "Abraham your father rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad. "(John 8: 56.)

God purposed that the offering of Isaac prefigured the sacrifice of His Son. Isaac was a symbol of the Son of God, which was offered as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.

offered the ram instead of Isaac represented the Son of God, which had to be sacrificed in our place. When the man was sentenced to death for his transgression of the law of God, the Father, watching his son, said the sinner, "Live, I have found a ransom."

was to record in the mind of Abraham the reality of the Gospel, and to test their faith, as God commanded him to sacrifice his son. However, no one but God could comprehend the greatness of the sacrifice of that parent to consent to his son died.

The agony he suffered during the dark days of ordeal that was allowed to understand from experience something of the greatness of the sacrifice made by the infinite God for man's redemption. No other test could have caused much anguish as Abraham which caused him to offer his son.

God gave His Son to die in agony and shame. The angels who witnessed the humiliation and anguish of the Son of God, not allowed to intervene as in the case of Isaac. No, voice cry out: "Enough!" The King of glory gave his life to save the fallen race. What greater proof can be to the infinite love and compassion of God? "He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how not with him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8: 32).

The sacrifice required of Abraham was not only for their own good, nor solely for the benefit of future generations, but also to instruct the sinless intelligences of heaven and of other worlds. The battle between Christ and Satan, the land on which it develops the plan of redemption, is the textbook of the universe.

Since Abraham demonstrated a lack of faith in the promises of God, Satan had accused before the angels and before God not to be worthy of his blessings. God wanted to test the loyalty of His servant before all heaven, to show that we can not accept anything less than perfect obedience to reveal more fully the plan of salvation.

Heavenly beings were witnesses of the scene in which tested the faith of Abraham and Isaac's submission. The test was much more severe than that imposed on Adam. Obedience to the prohibition made our first parents did not miss any suffering, but the command given to Abraham demanded the most heinous slaughter.

witnessed
whole sky, absorbed and amazed, the spotless Abraham's obedience. All heaven applauded his fidelity. It was shown that Satan's accusations were false. God told his servant: "I know that you fear God [despite allegations of Satan] because they have not withheld your son, your only one."

God's covenant, confirmed to Abraham with an oath to beings from other worlds, testified that obedience will be rewarded.

had been difficult even for the angels understand the mystery of redemption, understanding that the Sovereign of heaven, the Son of God, must die for guilty man .

When Abraham was commanded to offer his son as a sacrifice, it aroused the interest of all heavenly beings. With intense fervor, observed every step in fulfilling that mandate.

When Isaac's question: "Where is the lamb for the burnt offering?" Abraham answered: "God will provide himself a lamb," and when she was arrested by his father at the time that was about to sacrifice his son and the ram that God had provided was offered instead of Isaac, then shed light the mystery of redemption, and even the angels understood more clearly the admirable measures I had taken God to save mankind.

"To whom it was revealed that not unto themselves, but for us they did minister the things which now are announced by those who have preached the gospel by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which crave look at the angels "(1 Peter 1: 12.)
